Here are 10 tips using natural means to repel and remove mice:

1) Fox Urine - If you don't have a cat, and don't want one, you can buy products that contain fox urine. These products can be sprinkled in and around your home to eliminate mice.

2) Peppermint is a great natural way to deter mice. Planting a few peppermint plants around the foundation of your home can help repel mice.

3) Bay leaves are also effective, Bay leaves are great because you can sprinkle them around your pantry, which of course you wouldn't want to do with fox urine.

4) Hot pepper works too - If you mix one tablespoon of Tabasco and a quarter cup of soap detergent to one gallon of water, you will have a great repellant spray that can be used in and around any area that you're having mice.

5) Ultrasonic Pest Control - These devices transmit audio signals that humans and pets can't hear, but mice can. They transmit varied frequencies that cause stress for mice, and induces them to move to a less aggravating environment.

Mice are like people though, and can be reluctant to leave their homes. Ultrasonic devices are great a for preventing mice from initially coming into your home.

6) Remove food supplies from mice - Mice will chew through cardboard boxes, which means they'll eat through cereal boxes, oatmeal, and rice in your pantry. So it's really important to make sure that they are well protected, by putting food in plastic or metal containers.

7) Clean up leftovers and garbage - All dishes should be picked up and put in the dishwasher. Never leave food at night, including pet food. Mice will eat both dog and cat food.

All garbage should be double bagged, removed, and brought out to the garbage in your garage. The garbage in your garage should be sealed properly with plastic lids.

8) Clean up your garage - Mice like food, like nuts, grain, and sweets. One of the common problems people is leaving garage doors open. Mice get in there, and often find plenty to eat. Grass seed and bird seed are a great source of food for mice.

9) Trim your shrubbery - Mice will climb shrubbery, and use it as sort of ladder to climb through torn screens or open window sills. A good rule of thumb for that is that shrubbery should be at least 12-18 inches from your home.

10) Mouse-proof your home - Mouse proofing your home means closing up any openings in your home where mice could get in. Mice can slip through any opening that is about the size of a dime... That's pretty small! Key places to check are around sinks and radiators. Also check cracks in your foundation, and rotten wallboards.
